The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park

The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park is a landmark environmental education center in San Francisco dedicated to environmental justice and teaching about sustainability in the built environment. The center features: an off-grid solar array, an on-site wastewater treatment system with a constructed wetland; 15K gallons of rainwater storage; vegetative roof; reused and recycled building materials, and an array of sustainable landscape and land management solutions.

Orientation for Sust 91 at the EcoCenter

School is back in session this week at City College of San Francisco (CCSF). Students enrolled or looking to enroll in Sustainability 91, Applied Research in Sustainability came to the EcoCenter for a two hour orientation. The orientation included a tour of the EcoCenter that was conducted by students and myself. Student and photographer Julia Ellis Tomiyama (AKA Jet) took photos which are shared below.
